MAAGA ang ginagawang paghahanda ng pambansang pulisya para sa paparating na 2025 mid-term elections.
Ayon kay PNP Chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, layon nitong malansag agad ang mga Private Armed Group (PAG), sindikato ng ilegal na droga at mapigilan din ang pagkalat ng mga loose firearm.
“Our commitment is to safeguard the democratic process and ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted in a secure environment. By cracking down on illegal firearms, drug syndicates, and armed groups, we aim to protect our citizens and uphold the rule of law,” saad ni PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, Chief, PNP.
Kasunod nito’y inatasan na rin ang mga Commander sa iba’t ibang rehiyon para panatilihin ang regular na pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga lokal na pamahalaan para paigtingin ang pagbabantay sa mga ituturing na “hotspot” areas.
Kaya naman asahan na rin anila ang dagdag na deployment sa mga tauhan nito para pwestuhan ang mga checkpoint partikular na ang mga lugar na pugad ng mga sindikato at ilegal na gawain.
“The PNP will deploy additional resources and personnel to identified election areas of concern. This includes implementing checkpoints and patrols in critical areas, heightening intelligence operations against PAGs and the illegal drug trade, and enforcing stricter measures by the PNP-Civil Security Group and the Firearms and Explosives Office to account for legitimate and loose firearms in high-risk areas,” dagdag ni Marbil.
Palalakasin din ng PNP ang community awareness programs nito upang mahikayat ang publiko na magsumbong ng mga kahina-hinalang aktibidad.
“The PNP will work closely with local government units (LGUs) and other law enforcement agencies. This collaborative effort will focus on conducting frequent operations in hotspots of illegal activities. Measures include increased checkpoints, legitimate police operations based on credible intelligence, and community awareness programs to encourage public reporting of suspicious activities,” aniya.
Nauna nang ibinahagi ng PNP ang pagpapakalat ng kanilang ng 85 porsiyentong bilang ng mga tauhan nito para magbantay sa mga lansangan kontra kriminalidad, ilegal na droga at insurhensiya.
