31 RITM employees recovered from COVID-19

DEPARTMENT of Health Spokesperson Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire confirmed that 31 employees of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine or RITM have recovered from coronavirus disease 2019.

 

According to Vergeire, the RITM staff had already received two negative test results and some of them have returned to work.

 

Meanwhile, nine more are awaiting the results of their second test which is expected to be released today as they remain in the dormitory.

 

Vergerie said RITM hopes that with the return of their staff they will be able to help with their current testing capacity of 2, 700 tests per day.

 

She said they also requested an additional 400 personnel to assist with the processing of samples at RITM.
