THIRTY four Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel has completed the Coast Guard Paralegal Specialization Course Class 14-2024 “Paralawkey.”
The Commander of Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, Vice Admiral Charlie Rances PCG, graced their graduation ceremony in Associated Marine Officers and Seaman’s Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) Convention Hall Intramuros, Manila, today, 22 November 2024.
“I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible dedication of these 34 students, you have embraced the challenge of personal and professional growth, and I commend you for your commitment,” Vice Admiral Rances PCG said.
“I encourage you to go the extra mile, reach out to those in need and bring hope by connecting our communities with essential government service through your dedicated uniformed service,” he added.
Out of the 34 students of the 3 month and 17 days course, Probationary Ensign (P/ENS) Colyn Tortal PCG received a “Certificate of Distinction” for graduating with the highest overall grade of 88.9% for officers while Apprentice Seawoman (ASW) Richiar Mae Capili PCG recognized as the top student for Non-officers garnering an average of 89.7.
Meanwhile, P/ENS Lucky Mabanding and P/ENS Jhon Kaisher Sabado for officers while ASN Angelo Esguerra PCG and SN2 Jose Ajero PCG for non-officers were awarded “Certificate of Merit” and “Certificate of Recognition” for obtaining the second and third highest overall grades.
According to the Coast Guard Legal Service (CGLS), the Coast Guard Paralegal Specialization Course aims to impart relevant understanding to PCG non-officers, specifically in performing their duties and responsibilities comparable to paralegals of respectable law firms in the country.
