APAT na Korean national ang inaresto ng NBI dahil sa illegal online gambling noong Pebrero 27, ngayong taon sa isang condominium sa Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Porac, Pampanga.
Ito’y matapos maglabas ang korte ng warrant to search, seize, and examine computer data.
Pinangunahan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Pampanga District Office at Philippine Air Force intelligence ang operasyon.
Natuklasan na ang condominium ay ginagamit bilang illegal online gambling hub na walang lisensiya mula sa Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
Nakumpiska ang mga computer device at online gambling paraphernalia. Nahaharap sa kasong ilegal na online gambling ang mga suspek.
“These group, based on intel, this group came from BGC, they’re operating there for several months and then they transfer again, because that’s their modus, they kept on transferring area in order to evade arrest,” pahayag ni Atty. Rolando Paruli Jr., Executive Officer, National Bureau of, Investigation Pampanga.
Kinumpirma ng tagapagsalita ng NBI na si Ferdinand Lavin na apat ang naarestong Korean national: sina Kim Minha, Kim Haesu, Kim Minsuu, at Jang Jin.
“Four are arrested on illegal online gaming, however, ang isa nakapag-post ng bail at the other one is in court right now for proper identification in another criminal incident,” wika ni Ferdinand Lavin, Spokesperson, National Bureau of Investigation.
Sa karagdagang imbestigasyon ng NBI-Pampanga District Office, katuwang ang INTERPOL, Korean Embassy, at Korean National Police Agency, nadiskubreng wanted pala sina Kim Minha at Kim Haesu sa Korea dahil sa isang Interpol Red Notice. Sila’y mga miyembro ng isang Korean voice phishing syndicate na nag-o-operate sa Pilipinas simula 2017, at nakakuha ng humigit-kumulang 840,000 US dollars mula sa kanilang mga biktima.
May arrest warrant laban sa kanila ang Chuncheon District Court of the Republic of Korea dahil sa fraud.
“Lumalabas na parang opisyal sila ng Kookmin Bank in Korea and Chuncheon District Court of South Korea issued the arrest warrant, posted it on Interpol by a red notice. This was the basis for the continuation of the detention of the two,” ani Lavin.
Kasalukuyang nakakulong sina Kim Minha at Kim Haesu sa NBI-Pampanga at nakatakdang magkakaroon ng hearing para sa kanilang kaso sa Regional Trial Court Branch 115 sa Angeles City.
