THE 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division of the Philippine Army held a traditional New Year’s Call led by Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, at Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City on January 15, 2025.
The New Year’s Call is a cherished annual tradition in the military, where Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Human Resources from the 4th Infantry Division (4ID), along with ranking Officers of other uniformed services such as the Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police (PNP), and Philippine Coast Guard, within the 4ID’s area of responsibility, gathered to celebrate the new year. This event symbolizes a renewed commitment and includes a courtesy call to the Commander of the 4ID.
In attendance during the call were Brigadier General Consolito P. Yecla, the Assistant Division Commander; Col Rey P Pasco, the Assistant Division Commander for Retirees and Reservist Affairs; and Colonel Cesar J Conte Jr., the Chief of Staff of 4ID along with all Brigade and Battalion Commanders of the Joint Task Force Diamond. Also present were the Commanders from Combat Support Units and Combat Service Support Units, along with the Commanding Officers of Post and Tenant units located within Headquarters 4ID.
During the event, Major General Cuerpo II acknowledged the outstanding performance and operational success of selected Diamond troopers and units whose strategic planning, effective execution, and innovative initiatives furthered the 4ID’s mission.
In his message, Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II underscored the collective dedication required to overcome challenges and advance peace and development.
“The New Year’s Call is more than a ceremony, it is a testament to our shared vision and unwavering resolve to serve the Filipino people. Together, we will overcome challenges and achieve greater milestones,” said Major General Cuerpo II.
The ceremony concluded with a fellowship gathering that promoted brotherhood and camaraderie, reaffirming the 4ID’s commitment to its core values of service, honor, and excellence. This gathering set the tone for the challenges ahead as they work to sustain achievements in security and development through 2025.
