LOVE is more than just a feeling—it is a source of strength and connection. In this season of love, the Provincial Management Coordinating Committee (PMCC), Rotary Club of Dumaguete South Chapter, Dumaguete Rural Bank Inc., and Metro Dumaguete Water, in partnership with the 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion, united to bring hope and assistance to communities in Barangay Panubigan, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental through a Gift-Giving, Medical, and Optical Mission.
The humanitarian initiative benefited 72 families, a total of 264 individuals. The event was led by Ms. Farah Diba G. Gentuya, PMCC Chairperson and Provincial Director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), alongside Mrs. Willie Jean C. Rodriguez, City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO) VII of Canlaon City.
Meanwhile, troops from Charlie (Cougar) Company, 62IB, provided manpower and security assistance throughout the activity. This initiative aimed to provide essential services to residents affected by the ongoing ash emissions from Mt. Kanlaon.
The 62IB reaffirms its commitment to supporting local government units and partner agencies. The unit remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of affected communities while continuing its mission to promote peace and stability in Central Negros.
