AFP honors civilian personnel in 124th Civil Service Anniversary

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) marked the 124th Civil Service Anniversary with a ceremony held on September 17 here. The event, presided over by Major General Rommel Roldan, The Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, J1, highlighted the importance of civil service in nation-building and the critical role of AFP civilian personnel in the military organization.

The ceremony featured the oath-taking of newly appointed and promoted civilian personnel, signifying their commitment to public service. Additionally, civilian supervisors across the AFP renewed their oaths, reinforcing their dedication to serving the country with integrity and professionalism.

As part of the celebration, the event also included the Servant-Heroes Talk, where notable speakers shared insights and inspiration on leadership and public service. The talk was followed by an awarding ceremony that recognized outstanding employees and offices for their exemplary performance and contributions to the AFP’s mission.

MGen Roldan emphasized the crucial role that civilian personnel play in supporting the AFP’s objectives and their integral contributions to national security. “The dedication and commitment of our civilian workforce are essential to the success of our organization. You are the backbone that ensures the smooth functioning of our operations, and today we celebrate your service and dedication,” he said.

The 124th Civil Service Anniversary celebrates the long tradition of excellent public service in the country and the continuous efforts of government employees, including those in the AFP, to uphold the values of professionalism, accountability, and integrity in their roles.
