CHINA hits back at US President Joe Biden for referring to President Xi Jinping as a dictator and that his remarks amount to what Beijing calls an open political provocation.
After U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken‘s visit to Beijing and candid talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping to stabilize the bilateral relations, experts from the international community have seen hopes that the meeting would help address the estrangement between Beijing and Washington.
However, an unexpected spat seemed to have immediately dashed efforts in lowering the tensions between both sides after U.S. President Joe Biden labeled Xi a dictator, claiming that China was humiliated after one of its weather balloons accidentally strayed into American airspace earlier this year.
Biden discussed the row at a fundraiser in California and suggested that the incursion was unintentional while stating that it was designed for espionage.
The U.S. President said, and quote, The reason why Xi Jinping got very upset, in terms of when I shot that balloon down with two box cars full of spy equipment in it, was he didn’t know it was there.
“That’s a great embarrassment for dictators. When they didn’t know what happened. That wasn’t supposed to be going where it was. It was blown off course.

“That’s a great embarrassment for dictators. When they didn’t know what happened. That wasn’t supposed to be going where it was. It was blown off course,” President Joe Biden, United States of America said.
Meanwhile, China hits back at the United States, saying that Biden’s remarks were extremely absurd and an open political provocation.
The relevant remarks by the US side are extremely ridiculous and irresponsible, they seriously violate basic facts, diplomatic protocol, and China’s political dignity, which is an open political provocation.
The Chinese side is strongly dissatisfied with this and firmly opposes it.
It can be remembered that in February of this year, a Chinese balloon floated into U.S. airspace and was shot down after several days by a fighter jet.
And while the U.S. has repeatedly described the Chinese balloon as a spy balloon, China insists that it was a civilian airship used to gather meteorological data and that it floated off course by mistake.
China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said the U.S. distorted facts which exposes their nature.
The rights and wrongs of the unmanned airship incident are very clear, and it is completely an accidental incident caused by force majeure. The US side should have dealt with it calmly, rationally, and professionally, but the US side distorted the facts and escalated the hype by abusing force, which fully exposed the nature of US hegemony.
China’s ally Russia was also quick to comment on Biden’s remarks with Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov pointing out the contradiction between Biden’s comment and the efforts of Blinken in lowering tensions between the U.S. and Beijing.
Peskov said,
“These are very contradictory manifestations of U.S. foreign policy, which speak of a large element of unpredictability.”
The Kremlin spokesperson also said that the hectoring of the United States had become unacceptable for a huge number of states and that this number is constantly growing.
