DURING the fourth Senate Panel hearing on the PDEA Leaks, Senator Jinggoy Estrada focused his inquiries on the Personal Data Sheet of former PDEA Agent Jonathan Morales.
According to Estrada, Morales lied on his PDS by claiming he was not dismissed from the PNP.
“You were admitted to the PNP in 1993 and dismissed in 1994, from the service. But here, it’s clear what you wrote, ‘no’. ‘Have not been separated from,’ you wrote, ‘no’. Who are we going to believe?” according to Sen. Jinggoy Estrada.
But according to Morales, the documents provided by PDEA to the senator were not the original ones and that it’s incomplete.
According to the former PDEA Agent, he’s not denying the fact that he was dismissed from service, stating that he actually mentioned about it during his job interview at PDEA.
“If only the official submission I made to the PDEA could be seen, my entries would be visible. I didn’t lie. It’s stated there, during the recruitment itself, I was asked if I was dropped before. The recruitment committee asked me, so I said I complied. They asked me why you were dropped. They asked why your service was interrupted because it came out in the service record,” said Jonathan Morales, Former PDEA Agent.
But for Estrada, the former PDEA agent is lying, especially since Morales’s handwriting and signature are on the PDS.
This led to the committee to cite Morales for contempt and detain him in the Senate.
“If you can provide a correct explanation as to why you stated “no” there, then maybe this committee will agree with you,” said Sen. Ronald dela Rosa.
“That ‘no’ you’re referring to, I didn’t put that there,” Morales added.
“I move that he will be cited in contempt,” Estrada added.
“Bring him down,” he said.
Prior to this, the panel first cited Alias Pikoy for contempt. Dela Rosa was irked by Pikoy’s lying and seeming arrogance towards the senators.
According to reports, Pikoy allegedly spoke to James Kumar to prevent Morales from appearing at the Senate hearing.
“Is that your truth, to fool us?” stated Senator Ronald dela Rosa.
“I am not fooling you sir,” said Pikoy.
“You even brought something with you. We’re inviting you here to shed light… about your role in the CCTV recording. That’s why we invited you. And we didn’t invite you here to get your expert opinion. You even brought papers to teach us how to make an Operation to Conduct Report. Who are you to teach us here? You weren’t even a policeman, you weren’t even with PDEA. You’re just a NAPOLCOM employee who got dismissed? So how can you give us an expert opinion?” Dela Rosa added.
Meanwhile, former Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa was able to attend the hearing after the committee sought to subpoena him.
During the hearing, he denied halting the PDEA operation against PBBM and actress Maricel Soriano.
“During your time as the executive secretary, did the information arrive to your office regarding the alleged involvement of Ms. Maricel Soriano, and Bongbong Marcos and other high-profile cohorts reach your office?” Dela Rosa asked.
“No sir,” Former Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa said.
Senate Committee denies zoom speaking request for James Kumar
Meanwhile, James Kumar was unable to attend the hearing because he was reportedly in the hospital after suffering a stroke.
During the hearing, Kumar attempted to join via Zoom, but Senator Bato did not allow it.
“I just want to end this,” James Kumar said.
“James, we would like to hear from you but with that present condition, I feel guilty, James, let’s not do it,” dela Rosa stated.
The committee will wait for Kumar’s condition to improve before scheduling the next hearing for the PDEA leaks.
Jonathan Morales wants First Lady Liza Marcos to be invited in the Senate hearing
Morales appeals for First Lady Liza Marcos to also be invited to the next hearing.”
“You can see there is conspiracy,” Morales said.
“We will hear James Kumar first, then LAM if needed,” Dela Rosa said.
