THE Al Hosn Festival is officially back in Abu Dhabi.
For ten days, guests can explore Abu Dhabi’s heritage and get a glimpse of its early life before it became known as one of the smartest cities in the world.
Launched in 2015, the Al Hosn Festival is one of the most popular cultural events in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Capital.
The yearly festival aims to honor the UAE’s history and identity through a set of activities based around the iconic Al Hosn District.
Family-friendly and exciting activities await visitors from January 19-28.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the community’s way of life as it was decades ago.
These include interaction with camels, falcons, and traditional hunting dogs Salukis.
A competition awarding outstanding skills in preparing traditional Arabic coffee was also launched.
The festival recreates an old village and souk where visitors can experience fishnet making, palm weaving, pottery making, and textile dyeing, among others as well as the traditional way to welcome newborn Emirati babies.
Creative workshops, traditional food and music performances, antique crafts and home designs, henna, as well as fashion and adornments cherished by Emirati women are part of the highlights of the ongoing festival.
The yearly festival aims to preserve Emirati tradition along with its mission to protect and promote the UAE capital’s cultural heritage.
