Army recovers CTG war materiel in Abra

ARMY troops with Abra PNP and other law enforcement agencies captured significant war materiel belonging to the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in a joint operation at the hinterlands of Barangay Tabacda, Tubo, Abra on February 7, 2024.

Operating troops from the 24th Infantry Battalion (24IB), 7th Infantry Division, together with the 50th Infantry Battalion, 5th Infantry Division, Abra police, and other law enforcement agencies, recovered the armed cache, which included six hand grenades, two upper receivers of M16 rifles, 22 blasting caps and materials used for IED production. The recovered war materiel was safely kept at the 24IB’s Rear Command Post at Sitio Barbarit, Barangay Tagodtod, Lagangilang, Abra, for proper disposition.

The Army leadership lauded the coordinated efforts of troops and their counterparts for the successful capture of the war materiel that dealt another blow to the CTG remnants in Abra. Likewise, the Army leadership expressed its gratitude for the continuous cooperation of the community to maintain peace and order in the province of Abra.
