Army troops clash against Communist Terrorist Group in Laguna, 1 NPA terrorist dead

OPERATING troops from the 202nd Infantry Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (2ID) exchanged fires with a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Famy, Laguna on November 28, 2024.
Said encounter ensued as the soldiers conducted security operations in the area and were fired upon by an armed group before fleeing the site.
The troops scoured the encounter site and recovered a short firearm with a magazine containing six live ammunition, a backpack, a handheld radio, a headset, assorted medicines, and personal belongings, and discovered the body of a female CTG member identified as alias Jimy, Judy, and Esek.
The Army leadership commends the 202nd Infantry Brigade troops for their prompt response to the community’s reports and for ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens in the area.
The 2ID calls upon remaining CTG members to surrender and live peacefully with their families.
While the government does not rejoice in the loss of lives, it remains resolute in its mission to end local communist armed conflict and restore lasting peace in conflict-affected areas.
