AUSTRALIAN Prime Minister Anthony Albanese arrived in Washington DC on Sunday night to hold meetings with US President Joe Biden and other political leaders.
Australia’s relations with China and the passage of legislation that will allow the AUKUS agreement to proceed will be part of the talks.
On Wednesday, Albanese will pay a visit to The Oval Office to hold a joint press conference with Biden and attend a state dinner.
The visit comes a few months after Biden canceled a trip to Australia in May in the wake of a debt ceiling crisis in the US.
Albanese announced his plan to visit China in early November to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping hours before leaving the country for the United States.
