MILLIONS of Australians faced their coldest June morning in years.
The Australian capital of Canberra recorded its coldest June morning since 1986, with temperatures dipping below minus 7 degrees Celsius.
Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, has shivered through their coldest June morning in 13 years, with temperatures dropping below 5 degrees Celsius in most parts of the city on Wednesday morning.
Melbourne on the other hand dropped to 4.2°C which was its lowest temperature since September last year.
Several places outside of capital cities have also registered their lowest temperature in five years.
Experts warned Australians are in for another week of extreme cold forecasted for most of the country.
The frosty weather was attributed to Australia’s cold change hitting new extremes.
