Barangayan Serbisyo Publiko brings 40 gov’t agencies closer to Dabawenyos

THE City Government of Davao, in its pursuit to ensure the accessibility of government services to Dabawenyos, brings the services of 40 various city offices and national government agencies to the barangays through the Barangayan Serbisyo Publiko (BSP) scheduled every Saturday.

Maida Saez, Deputy Project-in-Charge of the BSP, said in an interview with the City Information Office that since the first BSP on January 27, they have already served 21 barangays and more than 5,000 Dabawenyos.

“As of May 4, 2024, we served 5,678 clients from 21 Barangays,” she said.

According to Saez, the local government agencies participating in the BSP include the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO); Educational Benefit System Unit (EBSU); Office for the Senior’s Citizen Affairs (OSCA); LINGAP; City Health Office (CHO); City Veterinarian’s Office (CVO); City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO); City Agriculturist’s Office (CAgO); Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO); City Engineer’s Office (CEO); City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO); City Planning and Development Office (CPDO); Davao City Housing Office (DCHO); Office of the City Building Official (OCBO); City Treasurer’s Office (CTO); Business Bureau; Office of the City Civil Registrar (OCCR); Anti-Scam Unit (ASU); City Legal Office (CLO); Task Force Davao (TF Davao); City Cooperative and Development Office (CCDO); City Economic Enterprise (CEE);  and Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

The national government agencies participating in the BSP include the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC); National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC); Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA); Department of Migrant Workers (DMW); Social Security System (SSS); PAG-IBIG FUND; National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP); Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT); Land Transportation Office (LTO); Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR); Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA); Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP); Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); Philippine National Police (PNP); Professional Regulation Commission (PRC); and Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

The BSP is also participated in by the Manila Broadcasting Company (Love Radio).

Saez also said that there are more BSPs scheduled throughout the coming months. Updates on the schedules, as well as the participating agencies, will be posted on the City Government of Davao’s Facebook Page.  CIO
