NANINIWALA si senatorial candidate Atty. Salvador Panelo na tanging si Bongbong Marcos lang mula sa mga presidential candidate ang makapagpapatuloy sa mga nagawa ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Ang reaksyon ni Panelo ay kasunod ng pormal na pag-endorso ng PDP-Laban Cusi faction kahapon sa kandidatura ni BBM sa pagka pangulo.
Ayon kay Panelo, welcome development para sa kanya ang naturang hakbang lalo pa’t simula pa noon ay hindi nito binatikos ang administrasyon para lamang sa sariling ambisyon sa politika.
“I welcome PDP Laban’s endorsement of Bongbong Marcos for President. As I’ve repeatedly said, he is the only candidate that has not criticized the Duterte administration to score political points. His call for unity resonates with the people because political instability is counterproductive to our efforts to rise from the pandemic. Most importantly, he has committed to continue the reforms of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” pahayag ni Panelo.
Samantala, tinawag naman ni Panelo na hypocritical ang pahayag ni Senator Koko Pimentel hinggil sa pag-endorso ng PDP-LABAN kay BBM.
Sa pahayag kasi ni Pimentel, binuo aniya ang partido para kalabanin ang diktadurya ng rehimeng Marcos.
Pero ayon kay Panelo, sa ilalim ng pamumuno nito sa partido noong 2016 ay sinuportahan nito ang pagtakbo ni Pangulong Duterte na kinikilala ang nagawa ng dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. at maging ang pangako nito na mailibing ang dating pangulo sa Libingan ng mga Bayani.
“With all due respect to Senator Koko Pimentel, his reason to reject the party’s endorsement of BBM is hypocritical because PDP Laban, under his leadership, supported the 2016 candidacy of PRRD, who praised Ferdinand Marcos Sr. as a great leader, and even promised to bury the late President at LNMB,” ayon kay Panelo.
Dagdag pa ni Panelo, naging dominant at relevant political party ang PDP-Laban hindi dahil sa pagkontra nito sa Marcos dictatorship kundi dahil kay Pangulong Duterte.
“PDP Laban is only relevant today and is currently the dominant political party not because …it was established to oppose the Marcos dictatorship, but because of PRRD. PRRD is the most beloved president in history because of the people’s support,” ayon kay Panelo.
Sa huli, umaasa si Panelo na ang pag-endorso ng partido ni Pangulong Duterte kay BBM ay magtitiyak ng pagkapanalo ng BBM-Sara tandem sa darating na halalan.
Nananawagan naman ang senatorial candidate sa mga naniniwala sa pamumuno ni Pangulong Duterte na suportahan ang UniTeam dahil kung walang pagkakaisa ay tiyak na wala ring aasahang “continuity” sa mga nagawa ng kasalukuyang administrasyon.
“We hope that PDP Laban’s endorsement cements the victory of BBM and Inday Sara in the polls, which shall ensure continuity of PRRD’s reforms. We therefore call on all those in favor of PRRD’s brand of governance to unite behind BBM and Inday Sara on May 9. You can’t spell “continuity” without “unity,” after all,” dagdag ni Panelo.
