SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go’s Malasakit Team extended vital support to impoverished residents in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, as part of efforts to mitigate the effects of inflation and economic challenges on vulnerable communities. The outreach highlights the senator’s commitment to providing direct assistance to sectors most affected by rising costs and promote inclusive economic development.
Held at the Barangay San Agustin 1 Gymnasium on Saturday, November 23, 250 beneficiaries received essential items such as shirts, snacks, fans, basketballs, and volleyballs from Go’s Malasakit Team. Select recipients also received watches, mobile phones, and shoes, offering immediate relief to their daily needs.
In collaboration with the local government of Naujan led by Board Member RJ Recto, each qualified beneficiary also received financial assistance aimed at easing the burden of increasing living expenses.
As Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go continues to prioritize Filipinos’ well-being by offering medical assistance and encouraging residents to visit the Malasakit Center at Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital in Calapan City. These centers, established in 2018, provide a one-stop shop for medical aid, consolidating programs to assist indigent patients.
To date, 166 Malasakit Centers nationwide have served over 15 million Filipinos, demonstrating Go’s dedication to making healthcare accessible and affordable amid economic pressures.
“Bilang inyong Mr. Malasakit na ang tanging bisyo ay magserbisyo, kasama ng mga lingkod bayan na narito, patuloy po akong magseserbisyo sa inyong lahat sa abot ng aking makakaya dahil ako po ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo po ‘yan sa Diyos,” he concluded.
