SENATOR Christopher ‘Bong’ Go provides immediate support to fire victims in Davao City.
A lost life is a lost life forever. Importante ay buhay tayo kaya pangalagaan natin ang buhay na ibinigay sa atin ng Panginoon,” said Senator Christopher “Bong” Go in a message to fire victims in Barangay 76A, Bucana, Davao City, as his Malasakit Team provided immediate assistance on Monday, January 6.
Senator Go reiterated his commitment to enhancing disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, citing the Republic Act No. 11589 or the Bureau of Fire Protection Modernization Act of 2021, which he principally authored and co-sponsored.
He also emphasized the importance of Republic Act No. 12076, or the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of safe and well-equipped evacuation centers in every city and municipality. As the principal author and co-sponsor of the law, Senator Go underscored its role in ensuring the safety and dignity of evacuees during disasters.
Known as “Mr. Malasakit” for his continuous support for Filipinos in need, Senator Go assured the victims that his office remains steadfast in addressing their immediate concerns.
The relief operation was held at the Purok 7 covered area, where seven affected families received financial aid, grocery packs, hygiene kits, vitamins, water containers, and clothing. Selected individual was also provided with a mobile phone.
Senator Go also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and prioritize safety to prevent similar incidents in the future. “Ingat po tayong lahat at patuloy nating pangalagaan ang ating kaligtasan at kalusugan,” he added.
The senator concluded by reaffirming his commitment to serve the people of Davao City and the entire nation, emphasizing that his dedication to public service remains unwavering.
