THE whole Philippines was shocked when Cathy Binag appeared in public.
In an interview with vlogger Maharlika, Binag confirmed the issue of Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s alleged illegal drug use.
According to Binag, she had seen Marcos Jr. using a white powdery substance or cocaine several times.
Binag had a ten-year relationship with former Davao del Norte 2nd District Rep. Antonio ‘Tonyboy’ Floirendo, who is a close friend of both First Lady Liza Marcos and the current President.
According to Atty. Harry Roque, Binag has personal knowledge of the issue.
‘‘I know Cathy Binag because I was with her former partner, Congressman Tony Boy Floirendo, during the 17th Congress, and they were very close to Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez,’’ according to Atty. Harry Roque, Law Expert.
Roque was a congressman at the same time as Floirendo.
Roque mentioned that former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was the first to point out that Marcos Jr. was using cocaine.
He added that Marcos Jr. was also identified by a witness of former PDEA Agent Jonathan Morales as using drugs in a condo unit in Rockwell, Makati.
‘‘Then Maharlika Boldyakera showed a video that people were waiting for. The person in the video looked exactly like PBBM,’’ Atty. Roque said.
According to Roque, it is difficult to refute the issue of Marcos Jr.’s illegal drug use now that Binag has come forward.
Binag had previously stated that she was offered cocaine by the First Lady but refused.
‘‘Star witness, Cathy Binag. At least five times in the ten years she was with Congressman Floirendo, she saw PBBM using illegal drugs and even mentioned that the First Lady was offered drugs.’’
‘‘The President should speak out now. It is very difficult to deny or refute the story of someone who was close to one of the President’s best friends,’’ Roque also said.
SMNI is open to any response from the Office of the President regarding Binag’s accusations against the Chief Executive and the First Lady.
According to Binag, she distributed 150 USBs containing evidence against Marcos Jr. to close acquaintances.
These will surface if anything bad happens due to her disclosure of the issue.
