THE Coast Guard District Central Visayas (CGDCV) Commander, Commodore Weniel Azcuna PCG, led a site inspection, today, 10 January 2025, as part of the preparations for the upcoming Sinulog Fluvial Parade 2025.

The inspection focused on the critical points along the Cebu-Mactan Channel, including the parade’s starting and endpoint, to ensure the safety, security, and smooth execution of the event.

According to the CGDCV, the activity evaluated the navigational conditions, confirm safety compliance, and strengthen coordination with partner agencies and stakeholders. With 194 registered vessels expected to participate, the CGDCV emphasized the importance of strict adherence to maritime safety protocols.

The fluvial parade is scheduled on 18 January 2025, starting at 6:00 AM at Captain Veloso Port, Navforcen, and concluding at Pier 1 by 8:00 AM. Participating vessels are reminded to comply with the 6-8 knot speed limit and other guidelines issued by the Coast Guard.

The CGDCV urges all spectators and participants to cooperate fully with authorities and observe safety measures to ensure a meaningful and secure celebration.
