Christmas made extra special for SPED students

THE Maritime Safety Services Command (MSSC) through the Office of the Maritime Safety Services Staff for Civil Relations Service (MSS-7) successfully conducted a Christmas Outreach Program with a theme “Christmas Made Extra Special” at Julian Felipe Elementary School (JFES) Covered Court on 06 December 2024.

Through this program, a total of 100 school supplies, water bottles, meals, books, and toys were distributed to the students of JFES.

School Principal Mr. Nehro Dela Cruz expressed his gratitude to MSSC and its stakeholders for their noble endeavor in bringing an early Christmas celebration to the SPED students. He was honored that MSSC chose JFES-SPED students as the beneficiaries of this year’s gift-giving initiative, calling it an “extra special” Christmas celebration.

The Commanding Officer, MSSC Medical Station, Commander Rodante Rodriguez PCG represented MSSC during the event. He conveyed a message from the MSSC Commander, Vice Admiral Joseph Coyme: “In this season of love, hope, and giving, may we take a few moments to reflect and continue to be vessels of goodwill, carrying with us the light of service and solidarity. Through this initiative, we share more than just gifts; we share our time, appreciation, and inclusivity for these students.”

The program featured special performances by the students, their teachers, and MSSC personnel. The children and their parents also enjoyed the games prepared for them.

This event was made possible through a partnership with private partners, stakeholders, and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 112th Squadron.

The Philippine Coast Guard remains fully committed not only to ensuring safer seas but also to extending a compassionate hand to our community stakeholders. This event serves as a testament to our civic duty to serve beyond our mandates.
