Coast Guard assists LGU in search for missing individuals after flash flood in Matanog, Maguindanao

THE Coast Guard District Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CGDBARMM) assisted the local government in searching for the missing individuals due to flash flood yesterday, 14 July 2024.

Missing individuals included four children and one elderly at Barangay Pinantao, Matanog, Maguindanao was declared after an extreme flash flood last 09 July 2024.

Timely search and rescue operation commenced upon receipt of information from Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council PDRRMC-BARMM.

One child was rescued, while three cadavers were retrieved in the last few days of SAR operations.

CGDBARMM FOU K9 SAR Dog “Ivy” and personnel of CGDBARMM recovered the last missing cadaver of one female child marking the termination of the operation.

The search and retrieval operation was successfully pursued through the efforts of personnel from the Philippine Marine Corps, Philippine National Police-PROBAR, PDRMMC-BARMMReadi, Bureau of Fire Protection-BARMM and other Local Government Units.
