Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao Honors Day of the Filipino Seafarers 2024

THE Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao joins the national celebration of the Day of the Filipino Seafarers on the morning of June 25, 2024. The event was led by Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) XI with the theme “Navigating the Future: Safety First.”

The celebration commenced with a wreath-laying and floral offering ceremony aboard BRP Tubbataha (MRRV 4401), MTUG FORTIS VII, and MTUG ARNEB. The tradition of throwing wreaths and flowers into the sea was observed, symbolizing love and gratitude for departed seafarers.

Also present at the commemoration were employees from the Philippine Ports Authority and students from MATS College of Technology, Holy Cross of Davao College, DMMA College of Southern Philippines, and AGRO Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines.

Together, we honor the legacy and sacrifices of our Filipino seafarers, ensuring their contributions are remembered and cherished.
