Colombia, Chile recall ambassadors to Israel as Bolivia sever ties

ISRAEL’s military escalation in Gaza prompted Chile and Colombia to recall their respective ambassadors to Israel.

Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font recalled the country’s ambassador as he slammed the Israeli military for its unacceptable violations of international humanitarian law.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro also recalled the country’s respective ambassador to Israel and is among the first world leaders to condemn the attacks by the Israeli army toward the Palestinian territory.

Petro also threatened to break off diplomatic relations if Israelis did not stop attacking civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Bolivian diplomat and minister of the presidency Maria Nela Prada announced her country’s decision to cut off diplomatic ties with Israel. and demanded that the attacks in Gaza stop.

The actions taken by South. American nations took place at a time when more Latin American countries launched diplomatic protests against Israel’s military escalation in the Palestinian territory.
