Countries meddling in Niger coup d’état due to Uranium, other minerals supply—Pastor ACQ

Countries meddling in Niger coup d’état due to Uranium, other minerals supply—Pastor ACQ

ON July 26th, there was a coup d’état in the country of Niger and Mohamed Bazoum was removed as the democratically elected president of the country.

General Abdourahmane Thiani of the Presidential Guard then elected himself as the country’s new leader.

This prompted the United States, France, the United Nations, and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to meddle in the country’s affairs.

To recall, other countries such as Mali, Burkina Faso, and Chad had a coup d’état ahead of the one in Niger.

However, in a statement on the latest episode of ‘Give Us This Day’ on Thursday, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy believes that the abundant supply of uranium, gold, diamonds, and other mineral resources in Niger is the reason why foreign governments are paying more attention to the said country’s current situation.

“So a coup d’état has already taken place; a coup d’état in Mali, a coup d’état in… what country was that? It has a nice name… Burkina Faso. Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad – they were first to have a coup d’état but no one’s taking notice. Now, Niger had a coup d’état. Why is everyone focusing on Niger? One columnist there said, “Why? Because Niger has a lot of uranium, a lot of gold, a lot of diamonds, a lot of minerals that can still be benefited from.” In fact, France gets their uranium supply from them – for their nuclear plants and others. But Mali, Chad and also Burkina Faso, have run out of minerals – that’s why no one took notice. Now, there are fighting for Niger. That’s what I heard. Perhaps it’s true,” Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy said.

There is a brewing war in Africa if this goes on—Pastor ACQ

It can be remembered that ECOWAS gave a 7-day deadline to Reinstate President Mohamed Bazoum, something which Niger’s coup leaders rejected. In response, Niger also closed its airspace. According to Pastor Apollo, there is a brewing war in Africa.

“And also, now, ECOWAS – the Economic [Community] of West African States – ECOWAS, this is the 15-nation [bloc] that would like to attack Niger so that Mr. Bazoum, their deposed president can be reinstated. That’s why they are now fighting. They were given a 7-day deadline to reinstate Mr. Bazoum as the elected president that was deposed because of [a] coup d’état, but the Niger coup d’état leaders are very firm in their stand that they will not agree to it. They even closed their airspace and these ECOWAS nations under the leadership of Nigeria, is it Mr. Tabubu? Bola Ahmed Tinubu… it’s like a Filipino surname,” Pastor Apollo added.

Recently, coup leaders announced the new government they had formed for Niger, and ECOWAS is currently meeting in the Nigerian capital of Abuja for their next steps.
