THE number of recoveries from the COVID-19 in the Philippines is even higher.
In the Department of Health’s 4 PM bulletin, the number of recoveries increased to 975, with an addition of 43 cured.
It also listed 181 new positive cases, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 7, 958.
There were 19 recorded fatalities overnight. As a result, the total number of fatalities in the country has reached 530.
The DOH hopes that despite the increasing number of confirmed cases in COVID-19, recoveries will increase.
85, 000 COVID-19 tests
Meanwhile, the Department of Health has conducted nearly 85, 000 COVID-19 tests.
This is confirmed by Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
Of these, over 74, 000 were negative for the virus while 8, 000 were positive.
She said it included 1, 336 health workers infected with COVID-19.
As a result, the agency opened nearly 1, 000 slots for high-risk medical workers in the fight against COVID-19.
