Cyprus records massive increase in tourist arrivals

CYPRUS recorded a massive increase in tourist arrivals in February as more tourists return to the island country to refresh in the breathtaking Mediterranean scenery.

Nearly 200,000 foreigners visited Cyprus since January as the island country witnessed more tourists returning to its shores.

Arrivals from the United Kingdom were the main source of tourism followed by Israel, Greece, Poland, and Germany.

The number represents a 65.6 percent increase as compared to the same period last year.

Moreover, a total of 102, 000 Cyprus residents returned to the country last month with most of them arriving from the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, and Germany.

Most of the tourists arrived in the country for holidays, to visit friends or relatives, and

for business purposes.

Cypriots possess one of the oldest in the Mediterranean as the country fell successively under Assyrian, Egyptian, Persian, Greek, and Roman domination in the past centuries.

Dubbed the island of love, Cyprus is famous for its beautiful beaches, round the year amazing weather, wine, and food culture.

Tourism officials have discussed ways to promote the hidden beauty of Cyprus to the international community as borders worldwide have reopened under the post-pandemic setting.
