THE Barangay Caravan of Services (BCS) and the Barangayan Serbisyo Publiko (BSP) have already brought government services to a total of 21,381 Dabawenyos.
The BCS is held within the week of the founding anniversary of barangays in the Second and Third districts, while the BSP is scheduled on weekends catering First district barangays.
Jimboy Panal, Technical Adviser for Community-Based Organization (Citywide) Barangay Affairs – City Mayor’s Office, in an interview with Madayaw Davao last Friday, said a total of 11,038 people have benefitted from the 57 BCSs conducted from January to September 12.
Covered by the BCS are Buhangin, Bunawan, Paquibato, Baguio, Calinan, Marilog, Toril, and Tugbok.
Panal said they plan to conduct 51 more BCSs before the year ends.
The BSC brings at least 20 local and national government offices to the communities, with the Local Civil Registrar and the Philippine Statistics Authority having the most clients.
He encouraged the barangays with scheduled BSCs to properly inform the people who might want to avail themselves of the services offered by local and national government offices.
The BSP, in the other hand, is held on weekends.
Maida Saez, Deputy Project-in-Charge of BSP, said that as of September 7, they have already conducted 33 BSPs that catered to 10,343 clients.
Saez said the BSP provides easy access to government services for people who are not available on weekdays because of work, or those who cannot travel to the City Hall.
She added that during BSPs, most clients avail themselves of the health services.
The schedule for BSPs is posted weekly on the City Government of Davao Facebook Page.
