TO mitigate flooding incidents in the barangays of Batis and Kabayanan during rainy seasons, the Department of Public Works and Highways – Metro Manila 1st District Engineering Office delivered the newly constructed San Luis Pumping Station, and box culvert at Barangay Batis, San Juan City.
The completion of the project has minimized severe flooding often experienced by residents in the area. The project also addressed the inadequacy of drainage systems which previously contributes to water overflow. The facility was designed to protect not only the lives of the residents but also their properties from the devastating effects of flooding as it significantly improves water flow, helping keep streets and residential areas dry and safe.
This project is part of DPWH-NCR’s efforts to strengthen the region’s flood mitigation infrastructure by developing better stormwater management, particularly in the low-lying areas of the city.
