DITO telecom partners with Converge to enhance services for Filipino consumers

ON Thursday, executives from the Filipino-owned telecommunications company DITO collaborated with Converge ICT Solutions to enhance consumer services.

Both companies formalized their partnership by signing a Master Facilities Provisioning Agreement, facilitating the sharing of terrestrial and submarine fiber optic cable assets.

This exchange of resources aims to fortify the networks of both operators, resulting in expanded coverage and increased redundancy.

Simultaneously, it will generate savings through improved operational efficiencies and reduced capital expenditure requirements.

This groundbreaking agreement propels both networks forward, as Converge’s robust state-of-the-art pure fiber network aligns seamlessly with the brand-new network of DITO Telecommunity.

As of November 2023, Converge boasts a total of 682,000 fiber kilometers, reaching over 16.7 million homes, with household coverage now at 62.3% of total households in the Philippines.

On the other hand, DITO Telecommunity operates over 7,000 cell sites, covering over 80% of the population across 850 cities and municipalities in the country.

This agreement marks a pioneering effort to enhance network reliability, elevate fiber services for Converge’s two million customers, and strengthen mobile services for DITO Telcom’s 9.5 million registered subscribers.

This contributes to accelerated coverage expansion, supporting the country’s digitalization initiatives.

“The more we have this kind of collaboration, the more the benefiting to our consumers no. And we need to put more innovation especially since the digital transformation delay affects not only our business but our individual digital life already,” according to Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge CEO and Co-Founder.

“In the last 4 years, DITO has built and continuously built a very robust highest quality best performing network for the Filipinos and tuluy-tuloy na naming gagawin ito so that we could deliver for the Filipino consumers,” Ernesto Alberto, CEO, DITO Telecommunity stated.
