IN solidarity with the goal of ending child labor in the country, the Department of Labor and Employment Region 12 Cotabato Field Office distributed livelihood starter kits to the parents of child laborers under DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) in Barangay La Fortuna, M’lang, Cotabato recently.
Beneficiaries received livelihood kits such as carenderia packages, welding machine, manicure, carpentry, gardening, and carwash packages.
The programme aims to provide parents with a source of income and help reduce their financial needs that often drive children to work.
Through this, the Department serves as a bridge in them achieving financial stability while ensuring that children have the opportunity to remain in school and experience child independence.
Leading the said initiative were Labor and Employment Officer II Rica Mea Pepugal, Livelihood Development Specialist George Stephen Lasaga, M’lang Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Mary Ann Cortado, M’lang Vice Mayor Joselito Piñol, and other local officials.
