DOT month-long celebration of World Tourism Month comes to a close

THE Department of Tourism (DOT) on Monday (Sept. 30) has concluded its month-long celebration of World Tourism Month by recognizing and incentivizing select employees of the Department who joined the indoor sports fest and talent showcase organized by its Human Resources Division.

The day was filled with excitement and laughter as employees showcased talents and entertainment.

Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco also joined the occasion and surprised DOT officials and employees with her favorite Cebuano song.

“So much preparation has been done for all of the performances, and what should prevail always is our sense of duty and our dedication to our work but also at the same time, it is important to recognize our talents, and ultimately, enhance our ability to be tourism ambassadors for the Philippines. Each of you is a tourism ambassador for the country,” Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said as she led the awarding ceremony for the winning participants at DOT office in Makati.

Also joining the gathering were DOT officials Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, OIC-Assistant Secretary Warner Andrada, Director Reynaldo Rosas, Director Glenn Albert Ocampo, Director Eden Brion-Bakilan, Director John Benedict Tigson, Head Executive Assistant Frances Jan Villarino, Philippine Commission on Sports Scuba Diving (PCSSD) Executive Director Marco Ancheta, and Human Resource Division Chief Sophia Pagsuyuin.
