DEPARTMENT of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco on Wednesday (Aug. 7) received the International Management Group (IMG) Golf at the DOT Central Office in Makati City.
During the meeting, the IMG group presented their initiatives which aim to leverage on the country’s growing golf tourism industry.
Secretary Frasco enthusiastically welcomed the group noting that the DOT aims to position the country as a global hub for sports tourism. Currently, the Philippines has over 100 golf courses spread throughout Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, featuring some of the best courses in Asia.
IMG Golf is the world’s premier management and marketing agency in sports, fashion, and media that has staged and promoted over 800 events and boasts an unrivaled 50-year expertise and history in golf event management.
Joining Secretary Frasco at the meeting are IMG Senior Vice President Winnie Heng and IMG Global Partnerships & Business Development Director Neoh Wee Lee along with DOT Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, Undersecretary Ferdinand Jumapao, Assistant Secretary Gissela Quisumbing, Head Executive Assistant Atty. Glenn Albert Ocampo and other DOT Officials.
