THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bataan 1st District Engineering Office (DEO), as one of the national agencies dedicated to providing better services to the people of Bataan, actively took part in the celebration of the province’s 268th Foundation Day on January 11, 2025.
District Engineer Erlindo Flores, Jr. led the office delegation in the parade that kicked off the festivities, which proceeded to the Bataan People Center and continued with various programs aimed at promoting the spirit of unity and resilience among the Bataeños.
“Let this event serve as a reminder of the importance of collaboration between government agencies in our province and the community in achieving progress and overcoming challenges,” Flores said.
Local officials, led by Pusong Pinoy Partylist Representative Jernie Jett Nisay and Bataan District Representatives Geraldine Roman, Albert Garcia, and Ma. Angela Garcia, all emphasized that the theme of this year’s Foundation Day, “Selebrasyon ng Matatag na Pamilyang Bataeño,” resonated strongly with the attendees, highlighting the importance of strong family ties and community support in overcoming challenges.
The celebration concluded with a program that highlighted the achievements of the province over the past 268 years and ended with a performance by the local talent of Koro Bangkal Magbikin, demonstrating its commitment to promoting cultural heritage and community pride, which are essential components of the Bataan identity.
