IN observance of the National Disability Rights Week, held from July 17 to 23, 2024, with the theme “Promoting Inclusion: Celebrating Abilities and Advocating Access,” the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) conducted an outreach program on July 23, 2024, for children at Saint Joseph Home of Special Children (SJHSC) in Barangay San Jose, Tarlac City.
District Engineer Neil Farala led the initiative, providing groceries, medicines, and food packs to the children with disabilities at SJHSC, exemplifying the commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment that ensures equal access to essential resources and opportunities.
“It is our mandate as Filipino citizens to promote, protect, and ensure the equal enjoyment of all human rights and freedoms for disabled persons, with respect for their inherent dignity,” Farala emphasized.
SJHSC Apostolate Directress Sr. Leoncia Mateo, O.P., expressed profound gratitude for the timely assistance from DPWH Tarlac 1st DEO, and the participation of several district employees brought joy to the children, further underscoring the commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.#(DPWH TARLAC 1ST DPAIU).
