SAMAR 1st District Representative Edgar Mary Sarmiento suggested the government conduct a dry run on public transport vehicles before the end of the existing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
He said in order to determine the new system the transport department could adopt just in case everything is restored to normal.
In this way, it is possible to know what public transport should return to the operation as social distancing should still be considered according to Sarmiento.
He also needs to meet the call of some drivers who may earn less due to the reduced capacity that will be applied to each vehicle.
“Dry run talaga. Kasi, siyempre diyan papasok ang Kongreso. Pwede natin silang bigyan ng subsidy. Pero dapat nalalaman muna, ilang ‘tong busses, iilan ‘tong sabihin nating mga mass public utility vehicles na papahintulutan talaga,” said Sarmiento.
