THE Marcos admin is currently targeting to undermine the good leaders from Mindanao—former DND Secretary
Rising prices of basic commodities, unfulfilled promises from the elections, blatant corruption, and abuse of power.
These are just a few of the outcomes showcasing the kind of governance the Marcos administration has.
Because of this, millions of Filipinos have become poorer, dismayed, and claim that they have been deceived by Marcos Jr.’s sweet promises.
Aside from the mentioned issues, intense politics are at play, wherein critics, especially allies of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, are being silenced.
According to political vlogger EB Jugalbot, it is clear that the Marcos administration is doing everything they can to tarnish the good reputation of the Dutertes.
“This Marcos administration is truly hellbent on doing everything they can to downplay the Dutertes, to tarnish the image of good governance that the Duterte brand provided to the people in Davao and throughout the country,” said EB Jugalbot, Political Vlogger.
He also mentioned that the current administration is behind the overkill manner of serving the arrest warrant to Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.
Due to the large number of police officers now spread across Davao City, he stated that the beautiful and peaceful city of Davaoeños is considered under siege.
“The abuse and excessive use of force in Davao, I have to agree, is under siege. Ka-Eric, our fellow citizens need to know and understand this. Why would almost two battalions of Special Action Forces from different PNP units in different regions be here, and there are also reports of AFP special forces,” stated Jugalbot.
Jugalbot also questioned the sudden increase of American soldiers in Davao City and the intense surveillance being conducted with frequent drone flights.
“Those drones, those UAVs flying in the airspace of Davao, there’s a high probability that American soldiers are operating them, which ties again to the images posted by Jay Sonza of apparent US troops. And these are not just ordinary troops. You wouldn’t notice the size of an ordinary serviceman from America. These are images of people that I think are Navy Seals,” he stressed.
For him, this is clearly a violation of the constitution as it suppresses the freedom of Filipinos and is considered an impeachable offense.
“Why are they here in Davao? Why are they here in the Philippines? It’s not just unlawful; it is unconstitutional. It undermines the sovereignty of the Philippines. This is actually an impeachable offense. If you look at the provisions of impeachment, this is a betrayal of public trust, Ka Eric,” he added.
On the other hand, Former Secretary of the Department of National Defense, Norberto Gonzales, said the increased presence of uniformed personnel in Davao City and the targeting of friends and allies of the former president are part of the Marcos administration’s efforts to bring down the Dutertes.
“I believe, and I will confirm to you, that the administration is indeed focusing on Davao because there’s a conflict,” according to Norberto Gonzales, Former Sec. DND.
In an exclusive interview with SMNI News, Gonzales explained that in order for Marcos and his associates to maintain their power, they must first eliminate the allies of the Dutertes in Mindanao.
“Do you know the succession? If the President is removed, who follows? The Vice President. If there’s no Vice President, the Senate President. If there’s no Senate President, the Speaker of the House. If there’s no Speaker of the House, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. So, I think what the President is doing, of course, is ensuring that all these successors, all four, are not from Mindanao,” Gonzales added.
The Former Defense Secretary also added that the solid stance of Mindanao is alarming for the current administration or any politician, hence it is being brought down.
“Because Mindanao has shown how solid it is, politically speaking. That’s why it will really be targeted, and they will really try to weaken the respected leaders of Mindanao,” said Gonzales.
