Estero Rangers of DENR MEO-West conduct clean-up activity in Binondo, Manila

A clean-up activity was conducted by the Estero Rangers (ER) from the second cluster of DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO) – West, through the initiative of the River Protection Officers, on January 17 at Hong Bon Bridge, part of Estero de Magdalena in Binondo, Manila.

The activity aims to clean and rehabilitate major estates in the city, and promote proper care of the environment.

This clean-up is part of DENR-NCR’s ongoing steps to prevent pollution in urban waterways, and provide a cleaner and safer environment for communities around Estero de Magdalena.

It is estimated that more than 400 sacks of trash were collected by ERs after their diligent cleanup of the alleged sewage. Meanwhile, the office urges residents to be responsible when it comes to proper segregation, disposal, and management of waste.

DENR-MEO West continues to conduct regular clean-up operations in estuary and other waterways in the region to maintain environmental cleanliness and prevent the accumulation of trash in major waterways, communities in Metro Manila.
