Ex-President and KOJC Administrator Rodrigo Duterte condemns ‘excessive and unnecessary force’ in raiding KOJC compounds

FOLLOWING the simultaneous raids by heavily armed authorities on the various compounds of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in Davao City and Sarangani Province, Former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is also the administrator of the KOJC properties, condemned what he called excessive and unnecessary force in serving a warrant of arrest.

In a statement dated June 10th, Duterte says:

“I strongly condemn the use of excessive and unnecessary force in serving the warrant of arrest for Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ by police officers who are not even from Davao City.”

“This incident occurred within a place of worship and on school premises, which is absolutely unacceptable.”

“Will this overkill be the landmark of this administration when dealing with their supporters?”

“How can this administration guarantee the preservation of the constitutional rights of our fellow Filipinos when even the most fundamental of these rights are being trampled upon and blatantly violated?”

As of the broadcast, reports from the ground indicate that the heavily armed authorities returned to the compounds several times within the day.

Meanwhile, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy has still not been found.

In his last message to the public, Pastor Apollo stated that his life is in danger, with a bounty of 2 million dollars, prompting him to take measures to ensure his safety.
