ON Thursday, hundreds of thousands of protesters marched around various parts of France in a final show of anger.
Video footage shows dozens of people carrying lit red flares as they forced their way into the headquarters of Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton or LVMH in Paris, France as the building’s security alarm went off.
Aside from the French capital, thousands also marched in Toulouse, Marseille, and other cities.
Due to this, heightened security is in place in Paris as the government is set to announce its final verdict on pension reforms.
It can be noted that France is seeking to raise the pension age from 62 to 64 which triggered massive protests in the country since January this year, paralyzing major services such as garbage collection.
President Emmanuel Macron’s government argued the changes were needed to keep the system sustainable, after forcing them through without a vote in the national assembly.
However, many of the French are insisting to tax billionaires more and dropping the pension reform instead.
It can be remembered that the luxury giant enjoyed a 17% increase in sales during the first quarter of the year, as well as its share price reached a record high on Thursday.
