Greek PM slams Erdogan, calls Hamas a terrorist organization

GREEK Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reiterated that Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people during the sidelines of the EU Summit in Brussels.

Mitsotakis said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan “is entirely out of touch when he does not recognize this reality.”

The Greek Prime Minister previously said that Turkiye’s stance of not condemning Hamas as a terrorist organization is “problematic” and unbalanced.

He added that Athens is on alert following terrorist attacks across the bloc after European leaders showed support towards Israel.

Mitsotakus said that during the summit, European Union leaders talked about the current crisis in the Middle East wherein they recognized Israel’s right to self-defense “within the limits set by International Law, but also expressed deep concern for the humanitarian crisis in in Gaza.

Cyprus and Greece are now in talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on building a “humanitarian coalition” for the benefit of people in Gaza.
