MAKALIPAS ang limang taon ay pinatawan na ng habambuhay na pagkakakulong ng Puerto Princesa Regional Trial Court Branch 51 sa Palawan ang 6 na miyembro ng communist terrorist group (CTG) New People’s Army (NPA) na nahuli noong taong 2019 sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa sa Palawan.
Kinilala ang mga bandidong rebelde na sina Ronces Paragoso, Glendhyl Malabanan, Rimbuwan Bener, Joelito Tanilon, Jenny Ann Bautista, at Lumpat Awing.
Matatandaan na naaresto sa Brgy. San Jose sa Palawan ang mga nabanggit na NPA member noong Oktubre 4, 2019 at narekober sa kanila ang mga baril, bala, pampasabog, at mga subersibong dokumento.
Maging ang uniporme ng NPA at ang bandila ng makakaliwang grupo ay nakuha rin sa mga ito.
Kasong paglabag sa RA 10591 o Illegal Possession of Fire Arms at paglabag sa RA 9156 o Illegal Possession of Explosives Device ang isinampa laban sa kanila.
Kaugnay rito, pinuri naman ng Legal Cooperation Cluster ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) ang naging desisyon ng Regional Trial Court ng Palawan kaugnay sa ipinataw na hatol sa anim na miyembro ng NPA.
“The Legal Cooperation Cluster hails the conviction of suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) for violation for Illegal Possession of Explosives and Explosive Devices,” pahayag ng Legal Cooperation Cluster, NTF-ELCAC.
Sa inilabas na pahayag ng Legal Cooperation Cluster ng NTF-ELCAC, ang naging desisyon ng Regional Trial Court ay bunga ng mitikolosong pagdinig at presentasyon ng mga ibedensiya na siyang pinakamataas na batayan sa lahat ng korte.
“The decision of the RTC, as with any other judicial decisions, is a byproduct of thorough hearings and meticulous presentation of evidence that should meet the highest standard of proof in any court of law, i.e., proof beyond reasonable doubt,” dagdag ng Legal Cooperation Cluster, NTF-ELCAC.
Kaya naman, sinasamantala ng LCC ang pagkakataong ito upang paalalahanan ang lahat na maging maingat sa pagbansag sa mga kaso bilang gawa-gawa lamang at sa desisyon ng RTC bilang ‘di-makatarungan.
“Thus, the LCC takes this opportunity to remind everyone to be circumspect in branding the charges as fabricated and the RTC decision as unjust. The mere fact that a case was not decided in one’s favor is not a license to trample upon the rule of law and the administration of justice,” ayon pa sa Legal Cooperation Cluster, NTF-ELCAC.
