Barangay chairman, president of a subdivision, may face charges on child abuse
JUST this week, Malacañang reminds to strictly observe human rights violation.
This came amidst the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the country brought by the deadly COVID-19 where it may extend until next month if the number of confirmed cases along with the number of violators will not stop to surge.
In Bulacan, Barangay Chairman Sonny Angeles of Barangay Saog, Marilao, Bulacan and Aristotle Cruz, the president of the Homeowners’ Association of Villa Roma III Subdivision are to possibly face charges on child abuse.
Angeles and Cruz are reported urging other officials of the Homeowners’ Association of Villa Roma III to onrush the house of Manuel Marinay, a resident of the said subdivision at 8PM on April 17.
The group insisted on the resident to let his niece named Diezelle Marinay, 17 and grandchild named Christian Dariano, 15 to leave his house stating that they are not official residents of the place.
Marinay however reiterated that the two under-age teens are already living in his house even before the outbreak of the COIVD-19 pandemic.
He also stressed that he was shocked with Angeles and Cruz noting that they don’t have any right to dictate as to who he will take under his house.
Marinay tried to explain to Angeles and Cruz along with some of the officials in the association that they did not inform him about the said violation to the rules implemented in the subdivision.
He also added that he has every right to whatever he wants to do in his house as long as he didn’t cause any harm to other residents.
Unfortunately, amidst Marinay’s explanation, Angeles and Cruz seemed not to hear him and instead insisted on sending the teens away from the subdivision.
Marinay then decided to agree to the officials in order to avoid any further conflict.
Marinay however believed that the officials may be finding faults against him stressing that members of the LGBTQ community are living in his house.
It was around 10PM that the two teens are fetched by Corazon Marinay, the mother of Diezelle at the gate of the subdivision. The two teens are said to experience trauma after the incident.
Marinay is now appealing to Department Of Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año through Inter-Agency Task Force Chief Implementer Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr. to probe on the matter.
Marinay said that the incident clearly suggests violation against the Bayanihan, We Heal as One Act.
He also clearly stated to file criminal case against Angeles and Cruz along with the other officials of the Homeowners’ Association who joined and compromised the said incident.
