IHC grants interim bail for Khan over 7 cases

FORMER Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan was able to secure interim bail in several cases filed against him.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) approved of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s interim bail in seven cases on Monday.

Previously, the lawyers of Khan filed a petition for pre-arrest bail in multiple cases registered in different police stations of the federal capital.

Khan argued that those cases were filed for political revenge.

It can be noted, however, that the registrar’s office of the court attached objections to the petitions questioning how can a petition be filed in a high court before in a trial court.

On the same day, khan posted a video on Twitter of his parked car with no one inside having been attacked.

Meanwhile, amidst the economic crisis in the country, khan unveiled a 10-point roadmap for recovery.

According to khan, the ruling coalition did not have the ability or the intention to deal with the economic crisis.

“We need surgery to correct the governance system of this country, for which ensuring rule of law is a must. To reduce the current account deficit, we have to encourage our overseas pakistanis to invest in the country,” said Imran Khan, PTI chief.

Included in the roadmap are agriculture, tourism, and a healthcare program among others.

And to note, in a year-on-year comparison for the week at the end of March 2022 and 2023, inflation is at a 47 percent surge.
