THE 1,400-ton Deilaman destroyer, named after a town in Northern Iran, joined the navy’s Caspian fleet earlier this week.
Iran’s Armed Forces described the military vessel as one of the most advanced destroyers of the navy and does not fall behind the world’s leading destroyers, as reported by the local media.
The destroyer was designed by the Iranian Navy.
Deilaman uses the advanced Iranian “Eagle Eye” radar station, capable of detecting 100 targets all at the same time, with a range of 200km.
The vessel is equipped with cruise missile launchers for above-surface targets, short-range missiles for aerial targets, and Iranian torpedoes for sub-surface targets.
The country’s armed forces added that countless successes could be achieved by relying on its domestic potential at a time when the Islamic Republic is pounded by Western sanctions.
