BEFORE leaving for Saudi Arabia, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated the U.S. stance against Tehran during a summit on Monday.
“The pattern of hostile behavior underscores the nuclear imperative which you heard from Michael. Iran cannot and will not be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon,” said Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State.
This was the firm message of the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken during the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Policy Summit in Washington D.C. on Monday, June 5, 2023.
Blinken remarks simply reiterate the Biden administration’s stance against Tehran.
In addition, the U.S. continues to believe that diplomacy is the best way to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon but if Iran rejects this then.
“We continue to believe that diplomacy is the best way to verifiably, effectively, and sustainably prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. In parallel, economic pressure and deterrence reinforce our diplomacy. If Iran rejects the path of diplomacy, then, as President Biden has repeatedly made clear, all options are on the table to ensure that Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons,” Blinken added.
Blinken says U.S. commitment to Israel’s Security is non-negotiable, ironclad
During the event, Blinken also showed commitment to Israel’s Security in a speech to the pro-Israel lobby group, adding that it is non-negotiable and ironclad.
On that day, the U.S. and Israel celebrated 75 years of partnership.
Furthermore, Blinken said that America is more secure when Israel is strong and that the U.S. has a real national security interest in promoting normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
