IRANIAN President Ebrahim Raisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed various agreements during the 8th Meeting of the Türkiye-Iran High-Level Cooperation Council in Ankara.
Raisi arrived at the Turkish Capital earlier this week at the invitation of Erdoğan.
On the issue of Gaza, both leaders discussed the urgent need for lasting peace and to avoid any action that could threaten regional security and stability.
The two leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in supporting the cause of the Palestinian people.
Both presidents also talked about the latest developments in the region and signed ten cooperation agreements covering trade, transportation, culture, and other fields.
In terms of trade, Turkiye and Iran signed an agreement to boost their bilateral trade to $30-B annually and consider opening new border crossings.
The High-Level Cooperation Council between Turkiye and Iran has been established since 2014.
The establishment of the high-level talks signaled an interest by both countries to strengthen their relations on the basis of international law.
