ON Monday night, Israeli ground forces conducted raids against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, killing over 90 people. This raised concerns about further regional escalation and extended military operations.
On Sept. 25, the Israeli military activated two reserve brigades for northern operations, hinting at more aggressive measures to counter Hezbollah. Israeli forces have reportedly launched 70 cross-border raids into southern Lebanon since last November, aiming to dismantle Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.
In northern Israel, the military presence has expanded, with reserve troops, Merkava battle tanks, and Namer armored personnel carriers mobilizing along the border.
Local residents, especially in towns like Kiryat Shmona, have evacuated due to rising fears, frequent air raid sirens, and the ongoing conflict.
“I have a lot of friends. They never come back here over a year. We want back. We just want to go back to our homes, to our village and to our safety place. And now we know all the people in Israel, all the people in the north know that this is not a safe place,” said a local resident,” according to local resident.
The escalating conflict and increased military deployments have heightened fears of a broader regional war, as both Israel and Hezbollah prepare for potential further confrontation. Residents in northern Israel are left grappling with the uncertainty of returning to normal life.
