Israel under fire as Hezbollah launches more than 200 rockets

SEVERAL military bases in Israel were pounded with rockets and drones in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah senior commander Mohammad Naameh Nasser.

About 200 “projectiles” and more than 20 attack drones landed in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights and other territories.

Israel’s military said it had intercepted some of them.

One Israeli soldier was killed in the attack.

Hezbollah accused Israel of killing the senior commander with an airstrike by targeting his car while passing through the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon.

The assassinated commander was in charge of the Aziz unit and responsible for the entire Western section of southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military described Nasser as the one responsible for launching rockets from southwestern Lebanon and accused him of commanding a large number of terror attacks that targeted the Jewish state.

The new round of violence sparked fears the clashes could escalate into an all-out war.
