“Israel will pay”: Iran warns to retaliate after death of IRGC officer in Syria

ANOTHER member of the IRGC, a branch of the Iranian Armed Forces, died from a suspected Israeli airstrike earlier this week.

The incident urged the Islamic republic to hurl a new round of threats to its archenemy, the Jewish state.

The IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami warned that Israel will pay the price for the death of Iranian military adviser Saeid Abyar.

The missile attack happened in the Syrian city of Aleppo on Monday, right after midnight, local time. It is the second strike within a week and is taken as a sign of escalating tensions between Iran and its archenemy Israel.

The incident happened a few months after a suspected Israeli airstrike killed at least seven IRGC officials including a long-time military adviser to Syria.

Abiyar was the first IRGC personnel to have died from an Israeli air strike since April. Israel, on the other hand, has not officially recognized nor denied its involvement in the airstrike.
